The 2026 National Seminar for Federal Defenders (Advanced Defenders) is an in-person, invite-only conference for Federal Defender attorneys, which will take place May 27-29, 2026 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The program will feature cutting-edge litigation strategies in federal criminal defense at both the trial and appellate levels, in-depth analysis of recent developments in federal criminal law and sentencing, and practical guidance for addressing emerging challenges in representing clients in the federal system.
Registration for this program is limited to Federal Defender attorneys using an office allocation system. Each Federal Defender office will share registration information and invitations directly with their eligible staff. Attorneys who are interested in attending should contact their Federal Defender for additional information about registration.
