The United States Supreme Court’s new electronic filing system is now fully operational.  Most documents filed in the Supreme Court on or after November 13, 2017, may be accessed electronically, without charge, by performing a docket search on the Court's website using case name, number, or other words or numbers included on a docket.  The Court’s filing system is not part of PACER.

Although paper remains the official form of filing documents in the Court, parties represented by counsel must now also file docs electronically pursuant to the Court’s Guidelines for the Submission of Documents to the Supreme Court’s Electronic Filing System, effective November 13, 2017.  The Court’s website offers quick start guides, FAQs, and interactive tutorials on filing a petition for writ of certiorari, briefs, and notices of appearances electronically.  Paper pleadings filed by pro-se parties will be scanned and made electronically available.  In response to a telephone inquiry, the Supreme Court's Clerk’s Office does not have current plans to make any documents filed prior to November 13 electronically available to the public.
