Former President Donald Trump was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury on four counts related to the efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election (previous coverage available here).

Trump arrived Thursday at the federal courthouse in Washington to surrender on the charges, where he underwent processing and had his fingerprints recorded.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges. The next hearing in the Washington case was set for Aug. 28, though Trump will not be required to appear.

This is the third criminal case brought against the former president in less than six months.
