Assistant Federal Defender Appointed Eastern District of NY Magistrate Judge

The Board of Judges of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York announced the appointment of Clay Kaminsky as magistrate judge.

Kaminsky takes on his new role after more than a decade as a trial attorney with the Federal Defenders of New York.

He is a graduate of Harvard University and New York University School of Law. He clerked at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Before joining the Federal Defenders, he was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.

In a meaningful full-circle moment, he was sworn in by Judge Allyne Ross, for whom he previously served as a law clerk.
