STANDING ORDERS APPOINTING FEDERAL PUBLIC DEFENDER

In several districts, the courts have issued standing orders appointing the federal public defender as counsel in crack retroactivity cases, for the purposes of identifying all individuals with a claim for relief under the amended crack guidelines and/or representing those individuals in any § 3582 (c)(2) proceedings. Below are the standing orders of which the Training Branch is aware; others may have issued or will be forthcoming. CJA panel attorneys with questions regarding standing orders in their districts should contact their respective federal public defender offices.
