This three-day program is a joint project between the Training Division and the National Defender Investigator Association (NDIA). The first day will consist exclusively of federal criminal defense topics - "Federal Day." NDIA's two-day National Conference will immediately follow Federal Day. In each time slot, the NDIA National Conference will include topics relevant to paralegals and investigators who specialize in indigent criminal defense on the federal level.
Throughout the three days, during plenary and concurrent breakout sessions, the program will cover a wide range of subjects, such as sentencing mitigation, mental health issues, report writing, cellular telephone forensics and cell site information, BOP issues, investigation in child pornography cases, crime scene forensics, awareness of cultural differences, handling fraud and financial cases, and much more. In addition, an eight-our hands-on session on mobile forensics will be available to 32 eligible participants. Registration information and an agenda will be posted here and on NDIA's web site (ndia.net) in January 2015.
